“As women, and especially black women, of course we are disappointed to see the pendulum swing so far so fast on the issue of DEI but we want founders focused on providing superior products at the right price, increasing brand awareness and building relationships that help them scale. The support these beauty brands enjoyed in the COVID and George Floyd investment era was short-lived, despite what the data says about minority women doing more with less. So, we are not just a community for founders, we connect them with retail partners, resources and consumers through campaigns and initiatives like this one, that increase their visibility and ultimately create value for the entire industry.” said founder and CEO, Brittany Hicks.
Next up on Friday, November 1, at 12 PM, we’re discussing Building Brands for Dummies with Terika Fasakin, Sr. Director at Simply! Terika has built brands across categories including Cheetos, Amazon Music’s Rap Rotation and now leads the team for Simply Juices at The Coca Cola Company.
Join us for a day of conversation during The Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, DC focused on Women, Business and The Black Family. In partnership with to be announced brands and organizations we will explore policing, the economy and cannabis policy as it relates to WOC.
As you know WOC is growing and changing. We love connecting women through engaging dialogue and intimate events, like Career Conversation, to discuss all things beauty, fashion, retail and commerce as it relates to Women of Color. Next up on Friday, September 6th, at 12 PM, we’re learning about The Art & Science of Product Pricing with Camiel Irving, GM at Uber!
