It’s National Stress Awareness Month and according to the National Institute of Health, Black women report higher levels of psychological stress than White women and carry a disproportionate burden of chronic conditions associated with psychological stress, including obesity and, low income earners, women and minorities face greater mental health challenges. National Stress Awareness Month started in 1992 to raise awareness and allow opportunities for open conversation on the impact of stress in our daily lives.
